Alongside these developments, the rapidly evolving field of Indigenous knowledges and methodologies4 has revealed the transformative and decolonising potential of Indigenous standpoints and perspectives. Postcolonialism provides theoretical resources that speak well to the concerns of critical diversity scholars, notably the interest in culture, power, and the construction of (human) differences. Yet, with notable exceptions, there is a paucity of research on workplace diversity underpinned by postcolonialism.

We posit a postcolonial and post-disciplinary criminology that rejects imperial regimes of truth (of which Indigenous crime and deficit are core) and proposes a pluriversity of truths, including truths about state crime and Indigenous strengths.

Although findings from these fields must not be discarded or underplayed, considered alone, they do not offer a complete assessment of the contributions to criminal behavior.
